Ground Water Institutes
for Teachers™
An appreciation
of the vital role of ground water in our environment and economy
should be part of the learning heritage of every adult and
child.
Bridge
This two-day training program held throughout the U. S. provides
insights and information about ground water that teachers
can use as a bridge to existing curriculum. Teachers tell
us if they understand subject content, they will find creative
ways to integrate that knowledge into their students’ learning
experience.
Learning
Children will benefit from understanding ground
water basics. They soon will be homeowners, decision-makers
and environmental stakeholders. Most teachers attending the Institute
are sponsored by local businesses, an investment guaranteed
to produce beneficial dividends year after year.
Specialist
Conferences
With increasing demands for water resources,
it is imperative to promote ground water protection and management
for sustainability.
Purpose
Trust forums and conferences are
designed to help professionals, decision-makers, regulators
and legislators understand water supply, ground water protection
and environmental issues relating to water resource development.
Topics
Programs have included the topics of artificial recharge
of aquifers, conjunctive use of surface and ground water,
water well design, well rehabilitation, water rights and the
role of ground water in aquatic habitats.
Public
Health Workshops
Awareness, information and education about
drinking water, public health and ground water protection
is a key to citizen and community acceptance of voluntary
and regulatory controls.
Quality
These state based workshops provide an intensive one-day
program for professionals involved with water supply and public
health to learn about technical and regulatory issues relating
to water quality, health, ground water protection, well construction
and water systems.
Program
This Trust program has been in place since 1998 and
is typically attended by health officials, realtors, well
owners, conditioning specialists and many other water supply
professionals.
