Institute for TeachersTM
programs:
I found the program excellent. The presenters
did a great job of providing information that
was useful and pertinent to our local area. I
will use the information immediately in both my
Biology and Environmental Science classes.
Erin Nelson, Bullard High School, California
Ground water is the most important topic for
our valley. As a science teacher, I now have more
information to use in my curriculum that in relevant
to where my students live! Additionally, I have
people to contact for information. Michael
Mirigian, Clovis West High School, California
Thank you for allowing me to be apart of this
fabulous institute. It was very well done. I will
be thrilled to pass on to other colleagues how
useful this was. Alys Brockway, Hernando
County Extension Service, Florida
Great depths of expertise in the speakers …
what brought us together is inspirational.
Laurie Alexander, Seven Springs Middle
School, Florida
The entire program was very well structured,
organized and timely with topics that were
interesting, pertinent and real. Jaime Brown, Dover-Sherborn
High School, Massachusetts
I can’t wait to write my curriculum and put this
into action with weather, chemistry and geology
classes. Constance Eisenhart, Guardian
Angels Academy, Clawson, Michigan
This has helped me see how we can change or science
curriculum to help students see it as a complete
ecosystem with water, geology and air all together.
A great study to incorporate into a gifted program.
Patricia Arndt, Morley Stanwood Middle
School, Morley, Michigan
I found that networking is extremely valuable
in education. The most important part of the Institute
was collaborating with other earth science teachers.
Denine Voegeli, Plainview Community School,
Minnesota
I have never been to a workshop with so much content
packed in and kept to a workable itinerary.
Richard Collins, Essex Agricultural High
School, New Hampshire
Any information on ground water that is presented
as clearly as this Institute has been doing can
only provide hope for our environmental future.
Christina Girtain, Toms River High School
South, Toms River, New Jersey
I feel that I increased my own knowledge and
acquired valuable materials and contacts to take
back to the science teachers in my district. Kathleen
Kvinde, Baldwinsville Central School, New York
The arsenic presentation will be great for my
7th grade chemistry class and the well volume
activity will fit in with my 8th grade math class.
Janet Carson, East Way Middle School,
North Carolina
The variety of presentations was wide, from geology
to biology and even entertaining presentations
on water wells, well drilling and pumps. Jay
Impink, Southern Lehigh School District, Pennsylvania
This Institute was very timely. Texas elementary
science curriculum has a strong focus on 'systems'
and real-life applications. Bennie King,
Alamo Elementary School, Texas. |
